The Ukraine Project
The project was started in March 2022 by a group of members of all three churches from the United Parish of Reculver.
Our aim was to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine’s displaced people. Through Ukrainian contacts in this country, we found out what was needed most and after a wonderful response from the three churches and the wider community we sent our first of many loads out the Polish border with Ukraine. We have since sent loads to several hospitals, orphanages, mother and baby homes and communities in the Ukraine.
Over the months our project has changed and developed. We now have a clothing bank for Ukraine people living here, contact with Canterbury City Council and a group of Ukrainians (Slava Ukraine) from Bexley Heath. Our future plan is to extend our reach, to not only people from Ukraine, but anyone living in our community who is in need.
